I am Dj Eugene

I am DJ Eugene. I have been a DJ in New York City for the past five years.

I have been collecting music my whole life and I have way more music than I really need, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I have two resident gigs in the city and I play various events and private parties as well. I play digitally with my computer so I can carry a lot of music with me and I all really need to connect to any sound system is a red and white RCA connection.

I am the DJ that plays everything.

I go from Dance to Pop to Rnb / Hip Hop easily and I really like to keep a feel for the room I am playing so I know my crowd is enjoying the music. Hear something on the radio or internet you want me to play ? Let me know. There are so many DJs that will play dance tracks and remixes all night. That can be  great but I prefer to mix not only music together but genres to keep it interesting. Most people like more than one kind of music .

I really like DJ-ing using the computer.

It makes perfect sense to me as most music being made right now comes from a computer, at least in its final stage. By playing digitally it allows me a range of control over not only the songs and the selections but also production tricks and special effects I can use on the fly, that in the old days would have required me to bring a lot more stuff.

I am a DJ that takes requests.

I will be the first one to tell you that I know a lot of music but I do not know everything and I am always looking to learn about more music. If it something I can play I will be happy to. Another great thing about digital DJ-ing is that I can buy music while I am working , so if I don’t have it I can get it. Just please don’t ask me to play 50 Cent or Eminem. I don’t have music by them or anyone else who is preaching hate. Please don’t ask me to play Elton John either- I just don’t like him.
